Leaderene

Women in Leadership
Leaderene is a new Community Interest Company (CIC) which aims to actively propel women into board level positions. The founder of Leaderene, Marilyn Comrie OBE, has recruited an influential advisory board of senior corporate executives - 50% male/50% female - to drive its sustainable development.
Leaderene is committed to increasing the numbers of women in senior decision making roles and increasing the capacity of established female leaders.
Across the globe women are still severely underrepresented on the the boards of the world's most powerful and influential organisations. In the UK currently 13.5% of directors on FTSE 100 companies are women, in the US 15.7% of board seats on the Fortune 500 companies are held by women and in Europe the figure stands at approximately 12.2%; whilst in the Americas this falls further to 9.9%, in the Asia-Pacific region to 6.5% and drops to an alarming 3.2% in the Middle East and North Africa.
Leaderene aims to provide a vital springboard for ambitious women by offering training and support to both women and organisations to create a strong "pipeline" of female talent flowing into the highest offices of business, community and politics and helping to create a positive global transformation.
Developing a gender balanced environment is necessary for improving corporate and pollitical decision making and improves the perfomance of an organisation, helping to create a more peaceful and secure world.
Leaderene's approach is threefold and will include:
- Bespoke training and leadership programmes for individuals and organisations.
- A global leadership ambassador network to link women leaders in business, corporate or public sector organisations across the world, providing a vital support network and creating a deep talent pool.
- A comprehensive website: this online resource will help individuals and organisations to stay connected and in the know. It will include inspirational stories and interviews, advice and discussion groups, research and e-learning, as well as providing access to Leaderene's products and services.
